Evergreen is a magazine dedicated to all things cottage core, a movement that romanticizes pastoral, peaceful living and embraces the arts.
It skyrocketed in popularity through social media over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic as many were looking for an escape that would help them reconnect with nature. This magazine works to showcase all Cottagecore has to offer and how to achieve this kind of aesthetic.
Style
Cottagecore romanticizes the lifestyle and aesthetics of English pastoral life. In order to pay homage to the original inspiration for cottage-core, I incorporated motifs and patterns from wallpaper and textiles that resemble the style of the time. The collage style was inspired by journaling and scrapbooking which are common activities within the movement.
The second article of this magazine discusses the life and work of Jane Austen who was an inspiration for the movement. The foldout was added to include more information about the books as well as images from the corresponding movies. The cover photo is a still from the movie Emma (2020) to represent the content within the foldout.

This article discusses the fashion of the movement and the original inspiration for the style. The foldout for this section shows a timeline of fashion from 1800–1839 which shows the evolution of style that has become very popular today.
